Ana currently serves as the Investment Committee Chairman of Business Capital for Romania Opportunity Fund, a private equity fund with a focus on Romanian SMEs, principally reviewing and advising on investment decisions. She has 15 years of business development, investment consulting and asset management experience.
She has previously worked with Worldwide Opportunity Fund, a hedge fund specializing in value investments in frontier markets, where she was involved in the management of a significant and diverse investment portfolio, as well as with Broadhurst Investments. She has held directorships for a number of leading companies in Romania and Serbia. Ana has also initiated and coordinated several successful business development projects and performed extensive management consulting work.
She is an associate professor at the Academy of Economic Studies, Department of International Business and Economics, Bucharest, with significant academic experience in the fields of international services economics and international finance. She has authored three books and published over 70 papers in refereed international journals. She has coordinated academic research projects and acted as expert for UNCTAD, PHARE, OECD and EU projects.
She holds a bachelor degree, a master’s degree and a PhD in international business and economics from the Academy of Economic Studies in Bucharest. Ana is married and the proud mother of one son.
